Writing is my favorite thing. I've been lucky to do it for almost all of my 90+ years -- newspapers, magazines, politics, blogs, letters to editors; I even had a piece in The Atlantic's June 2026 issue (I like to publication-drop that whenever possible.)

I try to write calmly & promote peace. I often tell people at parties, when introduced to newcomers, that I write a lot about death & dying & abortions -- which is true, and a good way not to get invited back if you aren't having a good time. But I write other stuff too; currently I'm delighted to be a contributor to The Saturday Review , fine magazine (print & online!) being re-launched in 2027.
