Still Life with Tulips & Pear

It started with just a couple of tulips from Trader Joe’s, leftovers from a larger arrangement for the coffee table.
Then I happened to set beside the vase a still-ripening pear. And suddenly I was seeing myself as the master painter I once aspired to be . . . before realizing (early on) that that was not in the cards (or the genes.)
