So sorry for your tough loss. Hindsight is almost impossible to avoid, especially after losing a good husband; you're wise to use it for a while and then recognize how little could have gone differently.

I've spent many years working for reproductive justice, after surviving a 1956 kitchen table abortion and barely escaping a sepsis death myself; my book "Perilous Times: An inside look at abortion before - and after - Roe v Wade" was published in 2013. No one will ever know how many women died of sepsis - the #1 killer - after botched abortions. As the anti-abortion forces continue to wipe out safe abortions, sepsis deaths are going to grow.
