I so agree. I can't write and NOT edit. Writing seems to me a very individual business. In countless classes & talks I was told to sit down at the computer (I go far enough back that it was originally the typewriter) at, say, 9 AM and not move from that spot until noon. Yeah, sure. I write in 10, 20 minute bursts in between coffee breaks, staring into space & taking phone calls. An hour or two if I'm feeling inspired. Thanks for this good piece.
