I love this story! While my marital history is nothing to brag about, my Final Husband (1992 until his death in 2019) was a dresser similar to yours: 1960s shirts still in his closet in the 2010s. He used to say that showing up for jury duty as a corporate vp with long hair and a beard saved him a lot of time because nobody could figure him out and thus he was usually struck early on.
