For what they're worth, here are a few words from geezerhood: I had two marriages that ended in divorce: the first wore itself out, the second was a rebound mistake. The third was extraordinary, mainly because neither of us wanted anything but what was best for the other. His death did part us after 26 excellent years including some hard ones of caregiving but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Seems to me marriage for any reason but mutual happiness & support might not result in the best marriage. Write on.
